糸紡ぎって知りませんかー。スピンドルという道具をぐるぐるぐるるるる回してふわふわファイバー（繊維）を糸にすることです。昔から人間は糸を紡いで、織ったり編んだりして服を作っています。そうやって編んだり織ったり、身につけたり、そして、吊るしたり、紐にしたり、結んだり、糸は無数の使い方があります。色も繊維の種類もたくさんあります。自分の好きな色と繊維を混ぜて自分だけの糸を作ります。色・繊維の選択と紡ぎ具合で、生まれる糸がみんな違います。別の糸と一緒によりあわせるとまた違う表現ができます。奥深い糸を楽しんでいただきたい！是非参加してください！

Yarn is infinitely versatile. Mix up your own unique blend of a range of colours and fibres and spin up a yarn personal to you. Every yarn is different depending on the spinner. Mix it up further by plying it with another yarn. Yarn is more than your gran’s scratchy old wool. Join us!

Dear What It Is class,

Here is your picture for Sunday’s writing session. (April 1, 2012)

I’m posting pictures early this week in case you’d like to do two at once and free up time for yourself over spring break.

Spend five minutes drawing this picture using your brush and black watercolor and make sure to concentrate on where you are physically in this image. Use the 9 minute timing video,  write in the first person, present tense, and make sure to begin your story by telling me where you are physically.

Before you start, please pick choose another scrap of paper with a word written on it to go with the picture just as you did with the previous post.
